Hortobágy Inn

Upon arrival to Hortobagy village Hortobagy Inn is an unmissable place to visit by the foot of Nine hole bridge. Here both those who fancy traditional delicious dishes and those who are interested in cultural monuments find their expectations as the Inn is a restaurant and a museum at the same time. The Inn was built in 1699 by the so called ’Salt route’ that crossed the Puszta next to the customs post and post station. It is the biggest and most popular as well as the oldest building of the Big Plain-The Alföld. Just like in the past, nowadays it also serves the demands of by passers and travellers with traditional herdsmen’ meals made from ingredients that grow locally. The terrace, garden and the inner places have a nice old vibe and it is all accompanied by live gipsy music.
