Jozsef K. Nagy Pottery maker

The beginning of black pottery making disappears in the past, the first written mentioning is from 1714. The masters of these potteries mostly made their things for the everyday use until the 1930s. The steps of the trade did not change much over the centuries: from claymining till the fired ceramics. The dried subjects gain their characteristic black colour in an oven heated to 900-950 °C, where soot and smoke burn ino the pots.

Jozsef K.Nagy is an important representative of the black pottery of Nadudvar. These ceramics can be bought in his workshop too.
