Kamilla Medical Bath

The Kamilla Medical Bath is located in the centre of Balmazújváros, near to the Semsey Castle. It has indoor bath area and different medical and wellness services, sauna department. The bath is open the whole year. In the indoor area there are different types of saunas, steam cabin, salt chamber, adventure pools. In the Kamilla Medical Bath located Hungary’s biggest sauna house. Semsey Castle – Semsey Andor Museum

In the town centre of Balmazújváros located the classicist styled Semsey Castle which was built in the XVIII-XIX. century. The Semsey Andor Museum located in the renewed castle. In the exhibition the visitors can know the history of the Semsey family and Balmazújváros and the life of the celebrities of the town like Péter Veres writer, politician, Imre Soós actor, Menyhért Lengyel writer.

Veres Péter Memorial House

In Balmazújváros the Veres Péter Memorial House is an important attraction which was built in the 1850s. Here lived and worked for years Péter Veres (1897-1970) writer, politician. In the exhibition the visitors can see information about his life and the labour of him. Furthermore you can see his objects, creations and posts.

Mihalkó Kalaposház

One of the oldest craftsmen trade is the shepherds hat making from natural materials like lamb wool. In the Mihalkó family the hat making is a tradition from the 1800’s. Gyula Mihalkó has certified with several awards. In his workshop you can see the process of hat making and an exhibition of all of the hat that the family ever made.

German-village- House of traditions 

The German-village- House of traditions was opened in 2015. In the museum you can see the history of the local German origin people, traditional dresses, furniture and creations of local artists. In the building there are library, club room, playing room and a kitchen where you can taste the traditional German dishes.

Radio History Exhibition

József László Csige collects the radios and other telecommunication devices for decades. He is one of the founding members of the Hungarian Radio Collectors Club. In the exhibition you can see about 300 devices from his private collection.

Nagy-szik – Hortobágy Conservation Association Visitor Centre 

In Nagy-szik the lovers of nature can meet with rare bird species and native domestic animals. The members of the association are waiting for the inquirings with an exhibition, information boards and different ecotourism programs.

Virágoskúti Rózsakert Organic Inn

The Virágoskúti Rózsakert organic Inn was designed by Imre Makovecz and Tamás Dósa Papp in 2017. It is a very popular place for weddings and wine dinners. Since 2018 it works as a restaurant, too. The equipment and decoration of the inn was made by craftsmen and you can see the magic of the Hungarian themes. They made the dishes from organic materials. The main part of the materials are from their farm, the other parts come from organic manufacturers and dealers. In their drink supply you can find handmade beers, juices, wines, syrups.
