Animal Park of the Pusta

Would you like see kids collect eggs from the chicken coop instead of the Easter rabbit? You can do it here and you can also meet domestic animals and try traditional meals what were prepared using their eggs, milk or meat.

The Animal Park of the Pusta is in the middle of the plains (pusta), close to the Nine-Arch Bridge. It evokes a spirit of a traditional countryside farm, presents traditional domestic animal species with their typical environment and their buildings. The animal park is a popular place for families and tourist groups with more visitors every year. Kids’ favourites are the wooden playground decorated by typical Hortobágy motives and a petting zoo, where they can pet goats, sheep and donkeys. Between the coops and pens there is an interactive study path, where visitors can learn more about the traditional domestic animals and their usage in an interesting and funny way. Water buffaloes can be seen in a pond from the top of a bridge, as so close as nowhere else. The animal park is a great location for family programs and workshops too.
